Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Billy is a personal assistant service operated by Synka Labs Inc. ("Synka Labs", "we", "us"), a US company with offices in Stockholm, Sweden. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Billy, including our website, messaging experience, and any related features (together, the "Service"). By using Billy, you agree to these Terms.

2. What Billy is

Billy is an assistant you talk to over iMessage. Billy can read from and act on services you choose to connect - currently Google Gmail, Calendar and Drive - to complete tasks you ask for, run habits you set up, and reach out proactively when something you have connected changes.

3. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority where you live, to use Billy. You are responsible for the phone number, email address and messaging or sign-in accounts you use with the Service, and for keeping access to them secure. If you believe someone else is using Billy through your number or email, contact us right away.

4. Messaging

Billy works over text. By starting a conversation with Billy, you consent to receiving messages from us at that number or account, including replies, task updates and proactive notifications you have enabled. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply. You can stop at any time by ending the conversation or contacting us.

5. Connected services

You decide which third-party services Billy can access. Today that means Google - Gmail, Calendar and Drive - plus any tools you connect yourself. When you connect an account, you authorize Billy to access it on your behalf to provide the Service, within the scopes you grant and no further. How we handle Google data, including Google's Limited Use requirements, is set out in the Privacy Policy. Your use of those third-party services remains governed by their own terms. You can disconnect a service at any time, which revokes Billy's access immediately.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use Billy to break the law, to harm others, or to interfere with the Service. In particular, you agree not to use Billy to send spam or unlawful communications, to attempt to access other people's accounts or data, to probe or disrupt our systems, or to resell the Service without our permission.

7. Cost

Billy is free while in early access. If we introduce paid plans, we will update these Terms and show prices before you are asked to pay for anything.

8. Your content

You keep all rights to the messages and content you send to Billy. You give us the limited license needed to operate the Service - to process your messages, carry out your requests, and improve reliability and safety. We don't claim ownership of your content.

9. Billy is automated

Billy is powered by artificial intelligence. It can make mistakes, misunderstand requests, or produce inaccurate results. Billy is not a lawyer, doctor, financial advisor or other licensed professional, and its output is not professional advice. Review important actions before relying on them.

10. Privacy

How we handle your information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms.

11. Our intellectual property

The Service, including its design, software and branding, belongs to Synka Labs and its licensors. These Terms don't give you any right to use our trademarks or to copy or reverse engineer the Service, except where the law says otherwise.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Synka Labs will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

14. Ending things

You can stop using Billy at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, if we're required to by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Where reasonable, we'll give you notice first.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Billy evolves. If a change is material, we'll let you know - for example with a message from Billy or a notice on our site - before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, and disputes will be handled by the courts of Stockholm, Sweden, unless mandatory consumer law in your country of residence gives you additional protections.
